It is tougher, more flexible and has higher melting points and tensile strength. Its viscosity is higher in molten form and has oil retaining property. Although it is strong not does not have perennial hold. As it is waterproof so it fills the gaps excellently. It rapidly adheres and works on both porous and non-porous materials, and does not wrinkle fine paper. Micro Crystalline Wax binds oils and solvents and hence protects the sweating of components.
